What is Purpose and how does it work?

Purpose is an AI coach that helps you grow. Just message what’s on your mind—it listens, helps you find clarity, and breaks big goals into small, doable steps. The more you use it, the better it gets at guiding you.

Fermi is the AI coach that powers Purpose. It listens, helps you see what’s really getting in your way, and offers practical guidance to move forward.

You will be talking to Fermi, our conversation AI inside of Purpose. She continues to learn about you over time. She will be able to connect ideas of the past to your current situation, understand how your past affects you now, and will naturally grow with you over time.

Within the first 5 minutes of conversation, you’ll notice that Purpose’s AI is different from generic chatbots. Purpose begins understanding your unique personality, communication style, and needs right away – offering personalized guidance rather than generic responses.

We support iOS 12.0 and later (standard current App Store requirement).

Not yet. Android and web are on our roadmap. We’ll share updates in-app and via email as soon as they’re ready. You can join the Android waitlist here to get early access when it’s ready.

Fermi can coach in many languages, but official support is English-only right now.

All plans start with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing cycle. Apple users request refunds through Apple; web users can email support@purpose.app. For additional detail see our Terms of Service.

We process payments via Apple In-App Purchases or Stripe — supporting major credit/debit cards and Apple Pay for a fast, secure checkout.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time.

Your data is secured in transit and at rest, access is restricted, and we never sell your personal data. You’re in control—delete your account and data any time from Settings. For more information read our Privacy Policy.

No, your conversations are not used to train new AI models. We may use anonymized insights to improve the overall app experience.
